Spare a thought for your friends and family

Over the last couple of days, we have become aware of one event which left us somewhat speechless and we feel that we should make reference to this on the site.

It is common for people today for some couples to get married extremely quickly after their engagement. Indeed, for some couples it is their choice to get married in a very short space of time after they first met each other.

When all is said and done, the actual date of any wedding is solely up to the couple involved, of course some people may express their own opinions if they feel that the date is too soon or too far in advance, but at the end of the day, they are just opinions.

However, if you are open with your family and friends abut your intention to get married then you should be open with your intentions whatever they may be.

We recently read about a couple who took an afternoon off work and were married in a registry office without anyone knowing. Although this is ultimately your decision, when asked about the aftermath of this the couple both stated that their close family and friends did express disappointment in the fact they were not their to see the event.

The wedding is about much more than the presentation of the wedding ring, and although the ultimate decision of how this is conducted is ultimately up to yourself, this case does highlight the fact that your close family and friends should be respected and considered in many of the factors which surround it.
