Should you have your eternity band engraved?

Eternity bands are becoming increasingly popular for couples who wish to reconfirm their love of each other, particularly in later life.

Many people decide to present their partner with an eternity band either as a surprise or to mark a special occasion.

One question does however enter the mind of many people and does elicit some degree of confusion and that is whether or not they should have the ring engraved.

The fundamental point which you have to remember here is that if you choose to present the ring to your partner without an engraving then this can always be conducted in the future. In fact after the presentation it would be a good idea to discuss your ideas for the wording of a potential engraving with your partner. This way they become involved within the actual process and will feel that they have played an important part in it.

Many people do choose to have the ring engraved before it is presented as they believe that this will hold added symbolism right from the start. Whilst this may be true in respect of simple phrases such as “I love you” or “forever”, if you are considering something a little more unconventional then we would advise that you take some time to consider your options and remember that this can always be performed after the presentation if your are not sure about it.
