There was a time when the majority of stag nights were held in the evening before the wedding ceremony itself. However, today they can be held at any time in the lead up to the big day. There are no guidelines or restrictions in terms of when you should hold your stag night although there are a couple of things which you should bear in mind.

First of all, no matter when the stag night is held, under no circumstances allow the wedding ring to be taken either with you or the best man. This will safeguard it from loss and damage which will cause an immense amount of heartache for all concerned.

Secondly, if copious amounts of alcohol are going to be consumed, then do not make this too close to the wedding day itself as you and your friends need some time to recover from this to enjoy the day fully.

Finally, think of something creative to do on your stag night. Sure there will be an element of drinking involved in this but that is not to say that this is the only thing that needs to be planned. It can be a memorable gesture to plan other things in your evening other than trips to bars which can make your night enjoyable.
