This would ultimately have one of two effects, either the other person would get incredibly scared and run a mile from your advances, or she would accept the gift and show you some degree of affection although you would have to question how genuine this would be.

If someone does not reciprocate you affects without a diamond necklace or diamond earrings for example, are their feelings going to be genuine after it.
