Combining special events may not be the way forward
by Rob ~ July 23rd, 2008. Filed under: Hints and Tips.Whether it be committing yourself to the special person in your life through engagement or formalising this through marriage, timing is imperative.
Many people look to get engaged, or more commonly married, during special days of the year as they believe that this will have added symbolism.
Obviously the most common day for anything marriage related is Valentines Day, however birthdays and Christmas are other common times for people to get engaged or married.
However, if you forget about receiving that special engagement ring or wedding ring for a moment and focus more on the intense symbolism of the event and the commitment which you are making, then you may just lean against holding this on an already special day.
For example, many people decide to get married on one of the couple’s birthday. However, the day is already special and already provides a platform for you to show your commitment to each other. By holding your wedding on this day, you may run the risk of diluting the meaning of the marriage, not only on the day itself but also in years to come.
Make your day a special one and one which for years to come you can reflect on with clarity and fondness.
